Final review of the project COOPOL

The partners of the COOPOL consortium will present, on Thursday, September 3, 2020, during the final review of the project, the results of their work to the funders (BPI and Ile de France Region) and to the technical experts evaluating the project.

The final review will take place from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm:

• The morning session from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. will take place face-to-face on the Thales Palaiseau site and/or by videoconference (Reception from 9:00 a.m.),

• The afternoon session from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. face-to-face only, dedicated to demonstrations, will take place in the afternoon at BA217 air base in Brétigny-Sur-Orge.

1st Best apprenticeship award of Mines-Télécom foundation

We are pleased that Yassine Habib received the first prize from the Mines-Télécom Foundation in the "Best apprenticeship award" category for the work he did for the COOPOL project during three years. This award recognizes the work carried out by Yassine for the development of a solution for the automatic detection and tracking of people and vehicles by a drone. Journée de démonstrations techniques du projet COOPOL

In a friendly atmosphere and with mild weather, the partners of the COOPOL consortium organized on November 08, 2019 an afternoon of demonstrations illustrating the contribution of the technologies developed within the project on scenarios defined by the end users of the project (Brigade des Sapeur Pompiers de Paris and Préfecture de Police de Paris). Typical scenarios covered are the monitoring of major sporting and cultural events, emergency support during interventions or site reconnaissance before the deployment of intervention forces. Thanks to the demonstrations, it was demonstrated in particular:

• Several embedded video analysis solutions: vehicle detection and tracking based on deep learning, 3D site reconstruction, victim detection and image quality improvement using multi-spectral information,

• A payload integrating sensors (visible camera with 30x optical zoom, thermal camera), powerful processing card for embedded video analysis algorithms (Nvidia Tegra X2 Card) and a secure and robust radio link,

• A multi-drone monitoring station to dynamically define, plan and reschedule multi-drone missions and supervise them with a single operator,

• An end-to-end video encryption solution,

• A solution to ensure mission continuity over time (automatic UAV relay),

• A SLAM solution for inland navigation.

Consortium meeting of COOPOL Project

The objective of this last meeting was to dicuss the progress of the work carried out within the framework of the project and to prepare the second annual review meeting that will take place on Monday 10/12/2018.

Acquisition of test videos with hot smoke

The fire brigade of Paris allowed us to realize in Tarare (69) on November 14th and 15th, 2018, different acquisitions illustrating the use cases targeted by the project. In particular, these acquisitions will enable project partners to evaluate their solution for detecting victims in a smoke-filled room using thermal images, and to develop a Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) -based navigation solution, based on thermal data and LiDAR type for a drone flying in a smoky room.

Participation of COOPOL project to the 5th edition of UAV show exhibition

The project COOPOL participated to the UAV show exhibition «Europe’s largest professional drone airshow and exhibition». This exhibition is dedictaed for professional UAVs and it took place 10, 11 and 12 of octobre 2018.

Demo videos were presented during UAV show exhibition, illustrating the work of each partner of the project.

Participation of COOPOL project to ROBOT PACA 2018

The COOPOL project participated in the 1st edition of the robotics workshop in the PACA region. This show is dedicated to the professional drone. It took place on October 10, 11 and 12, 2018. This is the fifth edition. This first workshop is part of a desire common to all stakeholders of the robotics activity of the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur region to draw up an inventory of the activity from the point of view of academic expertise, industrial offer or the needs of end-users. It took place on 25 and 26 June 2018 at Inria Sophia Antipolis.

Sécurité sur intervention : la BSPP mise sur les vecteurs télé-opérés

Depuis quelques années, la brigade de sapeurs-pompiers de Paris (BSPP) s’est engagée dans un processus visant à assurer la lutte contre l’incendie, tout en évitant que les intervenants ne s’engagent dans des environnements jugés trop dangereux. Cette performance est rendue possible par l’emploi des dernières technologies et le développement d’équipements robotiques qui peuvent être regroupés sous le terme de ‘vecteurs télé-opérés’.

A Compiègne, des drones pour lutter contre la délinquance

La cité impériale devrait être le lieu d’expérimentation national de ce nouveau moyen des forces de l’ordre. L’université de technologie de la ville et sa spécialisation drone, sont mobilisées. Premiers survols attendus en 2019. Il y a ceux qui les utilisent pour des images du réseau électrique, pour survoler les centrales nucléaires ou encore, à l’image des pompiers, sur d’importantes interventions. A Compiègne, les drones devraient servir les forces de l’ordre, police municipale et police nationale. Lancée il y a quelques mois par Philippe Marini, le maire (LR) de la ville, l’idée fait son chemin. Après des rencontres, dont la dernière en date vendredi dernier, avec le Premier ministre, Edouard Philippe, et ses équipes, la cité impériale doit servir de terrain d’expérimentation pour toute la France.... Le robot volant qui pourra assister les pompiers et le Raid

L'entreprise cugnalaise Airborne Concept développe un drone volant de nouvelle génération capable de se déplacer de manière autonome en environnement inconnu.

Des drones toulousains au cœur du projet Coopol de secours et de sécurité publique

Le projet Coopol, piloté par Thales, vise à doter les forces de secours et de sécurité d'un système de drones adaptés à leurs besoins. Labellisé par trois pôles de compétitivité, le projet mobilise 10 partenaires, dont le fabricant de drones Airborne Concept.

Une belle vitrine technologique pour Airborne Concept. Spécialisée dans la conception de nouvelles générations de drones et dans le développement d'équipements embarqués sur drones, cette start-up toulousaine, créée en janvier 2014, est un partenaire majeur d'un projet collaboratif piloté par Thales. Le gouvernement avalise 3 projets de R&D labellisés Systematic qui touchent à l’embarqué

Le pôle de compétitivité Systematic Paris-Region annonce que 9 projets de recherche et développement ont été retenus par le Fonds unique interministériel (FUI), dont 6 portés par des PME, dans le cadre du 21e appel à projets du gouvernement. Ce qui porte à 534 le nombre de projets du pôle financés à hauteur de 2,78 milliards d'euros pour 1,01 milliard d'aides de l'Etat. Sur ces 9 nouveaux projets, qui représentent un investissement en R&D des entreprises du pôle de près de 30,3 millions d’euros, pour 12,97 millions d’euros d’aides, trois d’entre eux touchent de près les technologies des systèmes et logiciels embarqués :...
